BioMassters Ltd. is a pellet cooking company established in Rwanda in April 2020, setting out to prove that customer-centricity and enormous positive impact can go hand-in-hand with financial profitability. We produce “Made in Rwanda” pellet fuel out of biomass waste materials and supply Tier-4 gasification pellet stoves to our customers.
Across the world, many households still depend on traditional cooking methods that harm both people and the planet. These fuels produce dangerous indoor air pollution, leading to serious health issues and contributing to climate change.
Despite the high cost and impact of traditional fuels like charcoal, clean and affordable alternatives remain out of reach for most families—especially in places like Rwanda.
BioMassters aims to make charcoal production and consumption redundant in Rwanda. We do this by supplying pellets as cooking fuel and by creating the demand for these pellets through the distribution of advanced biomass gasification stoves.
Pellets can be made from wood waste or agricultural residues and become a crucial part of a sustainable circular supply chain.

Since switching to a BioMassters built-in stove, I’ve seen major improvements in my daily life. I used to spend over 42,000 RWF (about €29) each month on LPG and charcoal. Now, I spend no more than 25,000 RWF (about €17) on pellets, including transport—freeing up money for other family needs.
